About the Play
The Tragic Ecstasy of Girlhood is a new poetic drama centered on the lives of five teenage girls who live in a state care. After the sudden death of a housemate, the girls must combat their grief and their guilt. Intelligent, honest, funny, and deeply moving, The Tragic Ecstasy of Girlhood focuses on love, abandonment, and the resiliency of the youth of America who are left to raise themselves in the shadows of the system.
