Education and Outreach

Working together across the Los Angeles community is a major tenet of Third Culture’s goals. With your support, we’ve been able to bring our productions into local non-profit education and civic organizations, such as the Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), Palms-Up Academy, Da Poetry Lounge, and Arts for Incarcerated Youth.

Some of our key initiatives include:

  • Working with young people to instill creativity and speak to the issues facing life in Los Angeles.

  • Bringing our productions to outside non-profit groups who prioritize diversity.

  • Offering regular “Community Conversations” where we invite audiences to hear and discuss the themes of our work with thought leaders and experts.

Want to work with us?

We’re always looking to bring our productions and custom create workshops for non-profits and other organizations. If you’re interested in collaborating with us, please reach out to our Artistic Director, Sofia Hurtado at 3culturetheatre@gmail.com.

Community Conversation Programming

Third Culture Theatre’s Community Conversations were born out of a want to bring stories to the stage that provoke our audiences towards larger, worldly conversations and questions. We, as a company, believe that theatre in its highest form creates an experience that moves our audience from acquaintance to community.

In order to do so, we curate discussions with leaders in their fields to engage in a dialogue about initial perceptions of the larger themes in our shows. We frame the conversations around the themes of the play and how they permeate our current culture. Our goal is to foster a thought-provoking discourse that brings together groups from different lived experiences in order to effect an internal change that is vital for an external, societal betterment.
